Sweden prohibits the use of Huawei and ZTE technologies in the construction of 5G

The US is trying to convince its allies to exclude Chinese companies from building telecommunications infrastructure, justifying it with concerns about data security. Companies from the PRC must, in accordance with the local law, help the state in collecting intelligence.

This year, the United Kingdom decided to completely abandon the use of Huawei products by 2027, and several other European countries have taken or intend to take similar measures.

The Swedish regulator Ericsson and Finnish Nokia, which also produce equipment used to build 5G infrastructure, will most likely benefit from the decision of the Swedish regulator.

By 2025, the Huawei and ZTE equipment already used in Sweden and used for this purpose will also have to be phased out.
