EA announced a remastered edition of Hot Pursuit, titled Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, is set to released for Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One on 6 November 2020, and for Nintendo Switch on 13 November 2020, just ahead of the game’s tenth anniversary. It will be the first game in the Need for Speed series to see a remastering. In addition to updated visuals and support for newer hardware, the game will include cross-platform play support for multiplayer. It will also include all former main DLC, with the career events of the Super Sports Pack, Lamborghini Untamed, and Porsche Unleashed integrated into the main career rather than being separately playable from it. Notably, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition, Mercedes-Benz 722 Stirling Moss, and the Carbon Motors E7 are missing, which were in the original game. The remastered version is being developed by Criterion Games and Stellar Entertainment, the latter who also handled the 2018 remaster of Criterion’s Burnout Paradise.
